¡Buenas! familia y amigos,
En esta semana pasada, nosotros tuvimos bastante éxito en
nuestro área y no tuvimos muchos tiempo en nuestra area!
So this last week we had a lot of success in our area and we
didn't have much time in our area.
So last Monday my old comp left to go home, he was an
alright comp, mostly I learned from our mistakes and errors on how I can be a
better missionary and a better example in front of the other missionaries. So
when I got my comp, we had to help our whole new zone get to their areas and to
help them take the right buses, and this last week we had 11 new missionaries
in our zone out of 17! So we started to get the elders of Guastatoya back to
their area because they passed it and never got off the bus. Then we helped the
elders of Estanzuela get to their area and then Gualan and then Teculutan. I
can't express how stressed out I was on that day because us as zone leaders
outside of the capital, we have to talk with the assistants and tell them when
they got here, what time they got to their area and that they had their house
all set up. It was a bunch of calling on that day. I can't imagine the life of
the assistants. haha, sorry for them!
Well so then we went and visited some members that night to
introduce my comp to them and on Wednesday we started to work. In the 5 days we
had to work we had 13 new investigators! and 5 new dates for baptism! My comp
has taught me so much about the faith that we need to keep moving forward and
to always help our investigators understand the importance of this step in
their lives to be baptized. And 4 of these baptismal dates were with new
investigators that we taught in the first lesson!
I can't express how much my comp has taught me in these last
6 days! also yesterday night we saw a huge miracle. So we went to a different
zone to have a meeting with president at 2 o´clock. The meeting was for us to
understand what we need to do as leaders of the mission. So we then returned to
Teculutan and started to work at 7 (the bus ride is 1 hour and a half each
way). We started to contact and search
for someone that we talked to the other day because here in Teculutan there
aren't directions. So we were looking for her when we contacted someone in the
street and he told us that we could go to his house right now and share the
message with him and everyone that lives in the house. So we asked how many
people lived there and he told us that it is a house that they rent out as
workers for 8 months until the melon farming is completed and he said there
were 16 workers that lived in this house! So we went there and they said to
come back in 20 min because they needed to go and buy food for dinner. So we
said we would come back in 20 min and then all of a sudden we saw the person we
contacted about 2 days before and she came and talked to us and said she lives
2 houses down from the giant house of workers! So we went and taught her and
her husband (well they aren't married) and turns out that she is a member and
he isn't! So we invited him to be baptized and for them to be married so that
they can recieve the blessing of having a family and not just living together
and he accepted! We were so happy after we had that lesson, that we then went
to the other house of 16 people and only 12 of them were there but we shared
something with them and invited all of them to baptism! They said that they
would pray and ask God if these things are true and when they recieved their
answer, they would be baptised! We have
seen so much blessings in this area within only 6 days that I can't believe the
opportunity I have to be part of them and to receive them!
So in this last week
i have been reading in 2 nephi! and i love chapter 4 verses 34 and 35
34 O Lord, I have trusted in thee, and I will trust in thee
forever. I will not put my trust in the arm of flesh; for I know that cursed is
he that putteth his trust in the arm of flesh. Yea, cursed is he that putteth
his trust in man or maketh flesh his arm.
35 Yea, I know that
God will give liberally to him that asketh. Yea, my God will give me, if I ask
not amiss; therefore I will lift up my voice unto thee; yea, I will cry unto
thee, my God, the rock of my righteousness. Behold, my voice shall forever
ascend up unto thee, my rock and mine everlasting God. Amen.
We all need to put our faith and trust in him. we can't put
it in someone/something else. Those things won't save us from our sins. Only
our trust in god and in christ will help us repent of our sins and change our
lives, through the Atonement.
My prayer for all of us is to be more like our examples in
the Book of Mormon, to be like nephi in this chapter and to always repent of
our sins and turn to Christ.
I love you all and I hope that we can be the disciples of
Christ that god needs us to be!
