Dear family and friends,
I can't believe I already have 8 months in the mission
field, the time is flying by so fast. I really want it to slow down so that I
can enjoy it more. Right now I love the ward, I love the investigators, I like
my companion, and I feel like we are really starting to progress!
Also this week, we had a great opportunity to attend the
baptism of our old investigator Wendy and she was super happy that we could be
there and see her be baptized. I really have developed a love for these people
here in Guatemala. They are so giving and its great to spend the time with them
and really see them progress.
We had a miracle that happened this week! This miracle was
that a family after 5 weeks of us visiting them, they finally went to church!
It's a family that has been inactive for 6 years, they call it vacation...haha
but they have two kids that haven't been baptized and the mom sees the need for
them to be baptised, and the kids are starting to read the BOM. I can't express
how good I felt when they came, given that they came an hour late... but they
came for the last two hours and the mom after church was crying! She was super
emotional and happy. It's really been great to see that they want to return to
church and do the right things.
Also, this week we put a new fecha with our investigator
Carlos. He is 40 years old and his wife and kid are members and he finally
feels like its time to be baptized after 8 years of hearing the lessons!!! He
has finally opened his heart and he knows that the BOM is true! He wants to
make the changes in his life and wants to attend church.
It was great to talk to my family yesterday. HAPPY MOTHERS
DAY!!! and it was great to hear your voices and see your faces. It was really
pixalated for me too and hard to hear but it's worth it. I can't wait until
christmas! Only 7 months away! haha but the time is flying by and it will come
quick. Also, Chace's voice is getting deeper and he is growing a lot! Keep up
the hard work in baseball and keep practicing! You guys are in my prayers
everyday!
Oh also shout out to Jared Graff and Brother Graff because
they were here in Guatemala and I recieved a note/letter from Jared!
Love,
