Family and friends!
I can't express how blessed I have felt this week with our
work and with my district. In the district we put 8 new baptismal dates this
week and we are really working hard to get these people progressing and ready!
We as a mission have goals to contact 10 people everyday, to
have 15 new investigators every week, and to have 2 new baptismal dates every
week. Maybe these things might seem hard, but they aren't impossible. If we
follow that council of our mission president then we will recieve the blessings
to accomplish our goals.
I hope that we can continue with the same faith, the same
diligence to achieve these goals.
So also I have been learning a little bit of portugese here
from my companion Elder Alvarado! To be honest, there are quite a few words
that are the same but the pronunciation is different,
Something that I loved that I read this week was in Alma 26,
really this scripture has always helped and I remember the first time I read
it. I actually was at the house of Ron and Debbie and I saw this scripture on
the missionary plaques (I dont know if that's right. I spelled it like I would
in Spanish) of Jory and Jeremy's (I think)
Alma 26:11-12
11 But Ammon said
unto him: I do not boast in my ownstrength, nor in my own wisdom; but behold,
my joy is full, yea, my heart is
brim with joy, and I will rejoice in my God.
12 Yea, I know that I
am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself,
but I will boast of my God, for in
his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty
miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name
forever.
How many times do we actually recognize that we are nothing?
How many times do we recognize that with out the Lord we can't do anything? How
many times do we give thanks for what we recieve everyday? Please, I invite you
guys, remember that everything we recieve, is from the Lord, remember to give
thanks, remember that as we keep the commandments, all of them, you can recieve
more of these blessings, you can receive more joy and happiness and most of all
we can become the sons and daughters that he intends of us, and that he wants
from us.
I know that these are true, I know that this church is true.
I know that God loves every single one of us. It doesn't matter if we are
members or not, if we sin more than another. He loves us and wants us to turn
to him. When needed, we need to use the atonement, which is the only way that
we can really feel of his love. I testify of these things in the name of Jesus
Christ, Amen.
