July 11, 2016

Well family and friends,
Another week has passed by and I'm getting closer and closer to seeing my family. Today has been really weird. As I have gone throughout the day, a lot of people have been telling me that I am almost going to be in my house, but to be honest, I know that I am almost about to finish the mission, but lately I haven't felt like it's been two years, sometimes when I think about leaving all that I am doing here, it makes me sad.  But I have to enjoy every last moment. I have to keep working hard until the last hour that I have. I am so greatful for all of you guys that have written me and have encouraged me to keep moving forward. Thanks for everything.

So this week was a week of ups and downs. I think this last week has been a week of the biggest up and down that I have had in my mission.  First, there has been so many ways that satan has tried to get us to not accomplish what we need to do in our area and there has been a lot of work on his part to stop us from helping these people overcome their trials and to overcome their fears and to be baptized in the church of Jesus Christ.

The two biggest blessing that I have seen in this last week, have been with the cousins of our recent convert, Gaby. Gaby is 22 years old and her cousins are 11 and 8 years old and a while ago their mom had never given them permission to come to church but they now have attended with us 6 times! Also, this week their mom gave them permission so that they could be baptized on the 30th of July! She told us that she wanted that her daughters could be baptized together and that she would give them support to be baptized on the 30th. So we are now trying to help these two girls get ready to be baptized on the 30th of July! Their names are Tyra and Ares and they love coming to church!

Also, this week I was reading in 3 Nephi 11 and I love the part after Jesus Christ descended on the American continent, becasue the first words that he says are, I am the light and the life of the world.
Jesus Christ really is our light because he lightens our path. He shows us what way we need to go. Also, Jesus Christ is the life of the world because he suffered for our sins. He died so that we have purpose in our life, he died so we could live again, and only through him is all this possible. He is the only name given under heaven that could die for our sins and that we could be saved.

I love you guys!

July 4, 2016

Dear family and friends,
Well this month is the best month of the year! And we can celebrate something so special and something that has changed history for the United States...

In this month of July was when I was born! haha! Isn't that the most important thing that has happened in the United States! haha, just kidding! Other than my birthday on the 19th of July, you guys have the chance to celebrate the freedom and to be in a chosen country to help start with the restoration of the church of Jesus Christ.

In 1 nefi ch 13 verse 12, 13, 15 16
12 And I looked and beheld a man among the Gentiles, who was separated from the seed of my brethren by the many waters; and I beheld the Spirit of God,
that it came down and wrought upon the man; and he went forth upon the many waters, even unto the seed of my brethren, who were in the promised land.
13 And it came to pass that I beheld the Spirit of God, that it wrought upon other Gentiles; and they went forth out of captivity, upon the many waters.
15 And I beheld the Spirit of the Lord, that it was upon the Gentiles, and they did prosper and obtain the land for their inheritance; and I beheld that they were white, and exceedingly fair and beautiful, like unto my people before they were slain.
16 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, beheld that the Gentiles who had gone forth out of captivity did humble themselves before the Lord; and the power of the Lord was with them.

With these, scriptures was fulfilled the promise of the Lord. On the 4th of July was fulfilled the promise with the liberty of this land to be a light for all other nations to have freedom and to have the promise that if we keep the commandments we will prosper in the the chosen land.
I testify that god fulfills all of his promises. He will fulfill all of his promises before the 2nd coming. I know that Christ lives and I know that he is my savior.

Dear family and friends,

Hey! Well this week was great!
We had two baptisms! and the two were confirmed on Sunday!

Well this week was an awesome week! We were running the whole week from area to area and we were in zone 1, 3, 7, and  8, because these zones are in our zone as a mission. This week also was one of the most stressful weeks that I have had in the mission, and one of the saddest for the disobedience that elders do, but our zone is getting better and we had 12 baptism in the zone in the month of June.

So this week we saw two huge miracles this week! The first was that we had a baptism that she told us that we had to heat up the water for her, but supposedly the water wasn't heated up to the degrees that she wanted.... so she thought the water was to cold when she entered but when she got to the last step in the water, she said she felt a peace in her body, even though her body was hurting from the cold water she said she felt peace and she was baptized and nothing bad happened. She didn't get sick, and didn't have any problems with her muscles or bones hurting from the cold.

Also, the other miracle is that the other baptism we had told us that she didn't receive permission to change her schedule from working in the morning on Sunday, because she asked to change it Saturday to be baptized, but then finally she finally received permission to change her schedule to go to church to be confirmed!  We are so happy!

Also, I liked two verses, in 2 Nephi, 31 & 32
2 ne 31:15, 21
Because these versiculos (verses) explain the way we receive eternal life and that Jesus Christ is the only name under heaven to help us return to live with him. He is our redeemer and our savior! Only through him, he can clean us, he can purify us from our sins, and I know that he lives. I know that the holy ghost can help guide us to not commit errors and to help us not sin.

Hola familia y amigos!

Well this week was also filled with a ton of success and a ton of miracles. We had a great week and we are also seeing a ton of blessings in the zone that I am in!
Well I have had a lot of blessings in this last week that I don't think I can count all of the blessings. Well the biggest blessings and the biggest miracles that I had this week was with our two new fechas that we put for next Saturday which will be the 25 of June! Also we had 5 investigators in sacrament meeting!

Well the first blessing is, that one investigator whose name is Catalina. She is 79 years old and is the great grandma of two kids who are members and we went to visit them and we went to also teach their family and to reactivate them. So we went to teach her for the 3rd time and she attended church with us this last week and she loved the sacrament meeting, and her great grandchild shared his testimony in the sacrament meeting and she started to cry.  So we went to her house and we started to teach her and we had some doubts of her because she is super Catholic but we felt that she could really progress as an investigator. So we invited her to pray and ask if the message that we shared was true and if she knew that these things were true that she would be baptized on the 25th of June and she said yes I will pray and ask God if I should be baptized. So after that lesson we were super pumped up and excited that she said she would pray, and then she told us the next day that she received an answer, but she was very sad when she told us that she received an answer. So we ask, well what was your answer? And she told us, I asked God if I should be baptized on the 25 of June and he answered my prayer at 12 at night and he said yes Catalina, what you have asked is right and you should do what you have asked.
When she told us this she began to smile with the biggest smile in  the world and was almost jumping up and down with so much excitement. She then grabbed our hands and kissed our hands and then asked well what else do I need to do if I'm going to get baptized? So we are teaching her all of the lessons and hoping that she will attend church this next week so that she can be baptized on the 25th of June.

Also the other great miracle that we saw, was that our other baptismal dates for this next week is called Gaby Giron, and she is 22 years old and has attended church now like 20 times but has never wanted to be baptized so we went to visit her family and her and she told us that she wasn't ready to be baptized and then we started to share an activity that was super spiritual and her family that is members were crying at the end of the lesson and she was teary eyed and then she told us that she would prepare to be baptized on the 25 of June.
These are just two of the miracles that we have seen and there are many more that I will share with you guys next week!

Well I just want to leave you guys with a scripture that's in the chapter that I left for you guys to read last week and nobody told me what they learned... that makes me sad that nobody responded what part was there favorite.
Well mine was in chapter 19 verse 23... and at the end, Nephi explains that when they read the scriptures they applied every teaching to their lives so that they could live better lives and be better sons and daughters of God. They realized through their scripture study the potential that God knew they could become and they knew where God set the bar!
I feel like we need to apply the scriptures more to our lives so that we can realize our mistakes, repent and become new and better people.
I invite you guys to read the first 5 chapters of 2 Nephi and tell me what caught your attention most in these chapters.

Thanks for everything! Have a great week and read the chapters!

Hey family and friends,
How are you guys doing!?

Dad, Chace, I'm so grateful to hear from the experience of Moroni's Quest, I wish I was there to see how they did the re-enactments of the Book of Mormon.  Sounds like it has strengthened your testimonies and has helped you guys love the Book of Mormon more!

Well this week has been great! Right now I have had my new comp for 6 days, but I feel like we have been companions for a lot longer than that! We get along so well and we haven't had any problems.  So my companion is Elder Cardenas and he is from Guatemala. He's from Xela, which is pronounced shayla.  He has 18 months in the mission and he will be going home in November.
Also, we had a baptism last Sunday that was confirmed yesterday! and we were going to baptise him but he is a ton of fear of the water! He was crying so much so he didn't get baptized. We hope that he will be baptized this Saturday.  We are going to try to help him overcome his fear by taking him to the church during the week so he can overcome his fear and enter the water.  If not we are going to throw him in! haha jk! (I believe he is talking about a different person than the one who was baptized last week, little confusing.)

Well, also this week we had a great week of working. We found 16 new people to teach and we put 2 new baptismal dates for the 30 of July. Also, we had 6 investigators in sacrament meeting.
We hope that they will be baptized in these next 2 months! and we hope to keep working hard to really help this area be a model area for the rest of the zone.

Well I read in 1 Nephi chapter 18- 22 this week, but I would like to leave these chapters as an assignment this week so you guys can read it and share with me what you learned. and I will share with you guys next week what I learned!

Thanks for everything! have a great week!
