Dear family and friends,

This week has been a great week! Well first I heard about my changes last week and I heard that I was going to be companions with Elder Cano, which many people have told me that I would hate him because he talks a lot and is really self-centered. To be honest I haven't had any problems with him yet, I think he has been a great companion in these last few days and that we are going to have a lot of success!

I am in an area called Zion. This area has had a lot of baptisms in this last year. About 30 in this last year but a lot are inactive so we are going to work with a lot of these recent converts to get them to the temple and to also try to baptize their family members. So this week we put a fecha with an 11 year old for the 6 of February and he is excited to be baptized. We had 2 investigators that were in sacrament meeting and the ward I am in is super strong, there is about 150 members and they, the bishop and his counselors want to work! I have been trying to visit all of the members this week but it has been super hard because there are so many.

So my companion is Elder Cano, he is from Honduras, he is 24 years old and has 21 months in the mission. He only has 2 more changes and then he will be going home, so I feel like I will be his last companion! Well that's it for this week! Adios!

Love you guys!

Almost Died!!!

Hey family and friends,
This week has been a really weird, scary, confusing week.

Well to describe why I have felt this way, it has been through the work here in Teculutan and the action others have made here. First, it's been really weird because this week is change week! WOOHOO! Change week is always a good week because you know that you can have a new area, new companion, and new opportunities. So when we got the call last night from the assistants, we found out about the changes in our zone. First I will be getting changes, and second my companion also...it is extremly rare that two zone leaders get taken out at the same time, but it happened. The mission president told us that it wasn't for something we did but the Lord told him that he needs us in other parts of his work and area. But I am super happy and excited, even though I love this area. I have been here now for 6 months and I will be going to Zona 6 and I will be going to a ward thats called Zion. I will be going there with Elder Cano and he is a zone leader also and will be finishing his mission in 2 changes. I hope to have a lot of success in this area.

Also this week, we were going to do a baptismal interview and we were going around a corner and the bus driver, wasn't thinking and started to pass a semi and half way into the pass, a car came and we slammed on the brakes, we almost hit head on, going about 60 miles an hour. I almost died but it was weird because no one yelled. Everyone in the bus acted like that has happened before and they didn't have fear for anything!

Well love you bye!

Hola family and friends,

This week has gone by fast! It feels like I didn't even have that much time to work in my area!
Well this week we went to the capital to have our meeting with President Crapo, and with Hermana Crapo.
I love hearing from them and the messages that they have to share with us! I am grateful that President Crapo is my mission president. I am grateful for the plan that Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father have for me and my family. I KNOW that Jesus Christ lives. I know that Heavenly Father loves us because we are his sons and daughters. I know that he cries when we cry, I know that he is sad when we are sad, and he rejoices when we rejoice.

Well this week has been a little hard to have a lot of lessons but I know that the lessons that we had were filled with the spirit. Well the people we have been preparing to be baptized, don't feel ready and they aren't married. So we will work with them to get married and baptized. Also, we have changes next week, and I think I will be staying in my area for another change. I will be here for at least 5 changes! That's crazy. I will be here in Teculutan for 7 months! Well that's if I stay, but other than that, it's been good here in Teculutan. We are seeing some blessings with our branch and we hope to have a lot more people to attend church next week.

Well that's all for this week, love you!

Hey family and friends,
Well this week has been great and a little bit rough. Rough because on New Year's Day, nobody was in their house. They all left to go to the rivers or go to visit family in other parts. So for two days it was really hard to find people to teach, but we made it work and found people that were ready to hear our message.
So for New Years Eve, we went to the house of an investigator and we had a campfire and we roasted hot dogs and marshmallows or here we call them hot dog y angelitos (little angels) I dont know why they call them that.
Then we went to the house of a member and they gave us barbeque chicken and rice and it was amazing! Even though there have been a lot of families that have told us to pass by and then they haven't been there, there are still a lot of other people that are willing to give us food or what ever we need.
So this week we were hoping that our investigators could come to church on their own again and that they could continue having their own desires to attend church and 1 of the 2 families came! They are preparing for the 16th of January and we will plan for their wedding, so they can be baptized!

Well have a great week!
I love you guys!

Family and friends!
1st I'm greatful for the people that wished me a Merry Christmas through video and through email! Those of you that didn't...well, I will forgive you this time, but I hope to hear from you guys the next Christmas, haha! Well, I'm super greatful for the video that my family put together! I got to hear from a lot of my family and 2 friends! Corbin and Lindsey! Thank you all so much! I am very grateful for your love and time that you guys took to help me have a great Christmas here in Guatemala!
I hope all of you guys had a great Christmas and I hope you guys have a Happy New Year!

So my Christmas was more or less what I thought it was going to be... haha I loved that we got to teach people the true meaning of Christmas and that we felt the spirit a lot with our investigators but some members kind of left us hanging! We had in total like 6 families that had invited us for a Christmas dinner on the 24th and the 25th and of these 6 families, 2 families were in their house at the time they told us to come...wow. Great communication! They didn't call us to tell us that they weren't going to be there or anything. We even asked some earlier that day and they told us yes. But to be honest I wasn't mad, I think if that happened last year I wold have been so mad, but I think that I have learned a lot of patience here in the mission.

I'm grateful for this time of year that I have to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
Through the birth of Jesus Christ it opened the door to everyone that they have the chance, and the opportunity to return unto Heavenly Father. All throughout our lives we pass through problems, difficulties, and adversities and a scripture explains it better than I can.

Job 5:18 says:
For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.
After everything  that we go through, he heals, he makes whole, he restores us to a forgiven state.
Only he can do it.

I love you guys and I hope you guys have a great New Years!

Well family and friends,
You guys are maybe asking yourselves what is chinconguya? Or maybe how do you get it? Or I thought you had it before?
And the answers to those questions are that it is a virus from mosquitos and you have a headache, your body hurts a lot, you can't move, you have a fever, you get a rash all over your body and it's like you have allergies and your life sucks... haha but it's a great experience!
I'm grateful I have the opportunity to go through these sicknesses. I know you guys think I'm crazy but it's because we need to be greatful for everything that we receive. Also, I was still working during these last few days so I have been just fine not staying in the house!
Also I'm grateful for the chance that I have to talk to my family! They are amazing and im grateful for my gifts for Christmas! I couldn't wait to open them I have already had my christmas here in Guatemala!
Well I love you guys! I will be calling at around 4 o'clock!
Oh and we had a baptism! It was awesome!
